The Red Tory Standard exists to explore, articulate, renew, and promote Canada’s unique strain of conservatism, one rooted in tradition and oriented toward the common good. We publish work on diverse themes and topics that reflect the values of Red Toryism: stewardship; community over individualism; the common good and social obligation; continuity and cultural inheritance; respect for established institutions; civic virtue and moral order; local, regional, and national identity; and a strong yet restrained state. We affirm Canada’s sovereignty under the Crown and maintain a principled wariness of continentalism. While contributors may belong to one political party or another, the Red Tory Standard is decidedly non-partisan, as we recognize that elements of classic Red Toryism appear across party lines and are not fully embodied by any.
